Parent & Toddler
The Parent and Toddler Group Initiative provides small grants for the purchase of equipment and resources, training and other operational and start-up costs. The initiative recognises that Parent and Toddler Groups are providing informal support to parents, grandparents and childminders as well as to young children.
Each year, Donegal County Childcare invite applications from Parent and Toddlers groups operating in the county. These applications are then appraised by DCCC and funding is allocated.
Grants can be used towards the purchase of equipment and resources, training for parents and towards rent, insurance and start-up costs. Grants of up to €800 are available for existing groups and up to €1,000 for new Parent and Toddler Groups.
Additional funding of up to €300 is available for new and existing groups to establish and operate a Buggy Walking Group. Theses are organised social walks for parents, guardians and their babies and toddlers and provide a range of benefits, including social interaction, physical activity and emotional peer support.
