New Free Online Resources from Barnardos

Below are details of a number of new free online resources for those working in Early Learning and Care and School Age Childcare that you might find useful.

This new series of resources explores how particular traumatic experiences can impact young children, how to recognise trauma symptoms in children in response to their experiences, and how, as early years educators, in partnership with families and support agencies, we can support children to recover.

The first two resources in this series look at Traumatic Grief and Domestic Abuse.

Planning and Responding supports settings to think about and plan for critical incidents and to have practical supports in place should it be necessary to respond to a critical incident.

Supporting Children’s Emotional Wellbeing provides information on the kinds of support that will help children to cope better following a critical incident, which will have a positive impact on their wellbeing.
