Job Description
·  ·        The Quality Development Officer will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
·        To provide ongoing support, advice, and information to early years providers
·        To promote quality development in the setting for children and their families
·        To Report back to management on a time scale that has been agreed.
·        Responsibility for ensuring the progressive development of the early year’s environment, curriculum planning and mentoring support for the Early Years Educator.
Support and organisational skills.
The Role:
·        Must demonstrate high developed skills in the field of Early Years to promote excellence in quality provision.
·        Has proven ability in developing and delivering guidance on Early Years policy, importance, significance within the organisation and to members of the public.
·        Has experience in curriculum planning, development and documenting of children’s work and activities
·        Has the ability to demonstrate the necessary vision, leadership, and experience to lead staff in the delivery of the Aistear Curriculum and Siolta Framework.
·        Understands the role and responsibility of the Quality Development Officer and possess the skills necessary to optimise staff contribution to achieve Organisational quality.
·        To assist the team to implement quality-driven practice
·        To plan work, review progress and prepare reports in consultation with the Manager
·        To meet deadline as set out by the Manager
·        To assist the Manager in implementing the annual work program.
·        To keep abreast of national and local developments in the childcare sector
Qualifications Required
·        All applicants must have minimum QQI / FETAC Level 6 and be eligible to work full time in Ireland. All other qualifications must be recognized by the DCYA.

·        Have at least three-years satisfactory relevant experience in the field of Early Years Care and Education
·        An in-depth knowledge and understanding of early childhood care and education policy and best practice
·        A knowledge and understanding of national early childhood care and education quality and curriculum frameworks
·        Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
Experience Required
Have 2years plus years experience working within a early years setting.
