Job Description

Reporting to the Programme Manager/Programme Coordinator the role will include but will not be limited to:
·         To assist in day-to-day organisation of the After School /Saturday Club at The Bluestack Special Needs Foundation providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4 and upwards, in a fun, safe and secure environment.
·         Keep records and reports of all activities implemented
·         Support and assist with The Afterschool Programme (Monday -Thursday), Teen Club (Thursday evening) and Saturday Club (Saturday Morning-Afternoon)
·         Maintain room, and equipment, to ensure the health and safety of children at all times
·         Ensure a good standard of hygiene
·         Attend meetings and undergo trainings as required
·         Be aware of all policies and follow same
·         Requirement to complete First Aid and Child Protection/Safeguarding for adults training
·         Supervise homework activities.
·         Accompany children to and from school
·         Maintain strict confidentiality.
·         Perform other reasonable and relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time
·         Be reliable, enthusiastic and work well as part of a team
·         Strong organisational skills are essential along with the capacity to work independently

Qualifications Required

Fetac Level 6 qualification in childcare or qualification equivalent in Additional Needs.

Experience Required

·         Practical experience working with children and young adults with additional needs.
·         Experience of working in a team environment.
·         Flexible approach to work including daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
.         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
.        Sincere and genuine love of children
.        The ideal candidate will have a background in the disability support sector and demonstrate the essential abilities to interact effectively with people with disabilities

This position is subject to references and Garda vetting.

Salary: €14.00/ hour

Schedule: Holidays, Day Shifts, Evening Shift, Monday- Thurs and Saturday
