Job Description

Manorcunningham Community Child Care Centre is recruiting a Lead Educator to join our early years team. We are a small community based part-time service (9 am to 1;00 PM) with a not-forprofit ethos catering for up to 32 children per day aged 2 years 8 months up to 6 years .The lead Educator will be responsible for providing a safe, caring, stimulating and inclusive play-based environment that promotes the participation and holistic development of all children

Qualifications Required

Applicants must have a minimum QQI level 6 qualification in early years care and education (This qualification must be listed on the most recent DCEDIY list of Early Years Recognised Qualifications for Lead educator or the applicant must have a Letter of Eligibility to practice from DCYA which indicates same).

Experience Required

Candidates must have a minimum 2 years’ post qualification experience in an early years’ setting. Experience of employment in a leadership role in a child care setting or related field is desirable however a mentoring programme is available to support applicants who may not have room leader experienece but demonstrate the ability , skills and knoweledge to carry out the role of lead edudcator Experience working with children with additional needs in a child care setting or related field is desirable

Vetting requirements

Garda vetting and international child protection certificate /police clearance is a standard safeguarding requirement for all employees who have resided outside of Ireland/Northern Ireland for a period of 6 months or more.

Applicants who are not Irish or EEA Citizens must submit evidence of legal residency in the state with their application, i.e. a Certificate of Registration issued by the Garda National Immigration Bureau and/or a Passport endorsed with the appropriate permission to remain in the state.

Additional requirements for the position

Up to date Paediatric First Aid or FAR training and up to date Children First Child protection training
