Job Description
Position: AIM Support Staff
Hours: Part-time (exact hours to be discussed at interview)
Contract Type: Fixed-term (subject to AIM funding)
Start Date: 01/09/2025
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate AIM (Access and Inclusion Model) Support Staff member to join our preschool team. This role plays a vital part in supporting the inclusion of a child with additional needs, ensuring they can access and participate fully in our ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) programme.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one support for a child with additional needs in a preschool environment.
Work closely with the room leader and preschool team to implement inclusive practices.
Follow the child’s individual learning goals and support their development in line with the Aistear curriculum framework.
Promote a warm, caring, and inclusive atmosphere within the setting.
Communicate regularly with the Manager and parents/guardians as appropriate.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum QQI Level 5 in Early Childhood Care and Education (or equivalent recognised qualification).
Genuine interest and experience working with young children.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Desirable:
Previous experience working within the AIM model or supporting children with additional needs.
Knowledge of Aistear and SÃolta frameworks.
First Aid and Children First (Tusla) training up to date.
