Childminder Service

A childminder service involves an individual taking care, by themselves of children under the age of 15 years, for payment, in the childminders home. A childminder is self employed and provides a paid childcare service for a minimum of 2 hours a day in their own home.

  • The maximum number of children a Childminder can mind is 6 children at any given time, including his/her own children under 10 years of age.
  • Off those 6 children there must be no more than 2 children under the age of 15 months (except in the case of siblings, triplets) at any given time including his/her own children
  • Please note that if you want to care for more than 6 children, you can choose to register as an early year’s preschool or school age childcare service.
