Seeks to recruit for the following temporary position: Childcare Development Officer
(Fixed term contract -18 months) 28 hours per week (January 2025- June 2026)
The successful candidate will be part of a team who are responsible for local support to Early Leaning and Care services, School Aged Childcare services, Childminders and Parents.
The Childcare Development Officer will:
- Support the implementation of the Government’s National Early Learning and Care Schemes.
- Provide ongoing support to new and existing Early Learning and Care and School Aged Childcare Provider in relation to compliance, HR, governance, sustainability and practice supports.
Essential criteria:
- Knowledge of the various Government early learning and care funding schemes and the supports available.
- An understanding of the Irish early childhood sector, including current policy developments, national practice frameworks, funding structures and mechanisms for support.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a related role.
- Minimum level 8 on the national framework of qualifications in a relatable discipline.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of inclusive early childhood education and care.
- A good understanding of issues relating to the development of quality early childhood services.
- IT and administrative skills with experience in report writing.
- Ability to respond appropriately to queries as they emerge.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
- Full driver’s license and access to a car.
