Resources for ELC/SAC Settings Supporting Children and Families from Ukraine

Dear Provider

We are writing to you today to share some supports/resources which may be useful to you as children and families from Ukraine engage with your ELC/SAC setting.

Resources:

Attached are three guidance resources for ELC settings on how they can best support children and families coming from Ukraine in a trauma informed way. The topics cover:

·       Transitions into Early Learning and Care Settings

·       The Healing Power of Being Outdoors

·       The Early Learning and Care Environment

These are available on Barnardos’ website at the following link ELC Support Resources | Barnardos

Barnardos have also developed a short e-learning recorded webinar, ‘Supporting the Wellbeing of Children from Ukraine: The Impact of Trauma and How to Foster Resilience in Early Learning and Care’ which gives early years educators an overview of the impact of trauma in the context of children arriving in Ireland from Ukraine and explores some of the key considerations to help foster resilience in the early learning and care setting.
