OECD Publication – Strengthening Early Childhood Education and Care in Ireland: Review on Sector Quality

Dear Provider

We are writing to you today in relation to the publication by the OECD of its Country Policy Review of Ireland entitled Strengthening Early Childhood Education and Care in Ireland: Review on Sector Quality. The review makes a number of recommendations on Early Learning and Care (ELC) in Ireland in the areas of governance and funding, workforce development, and quality assurance and improvement.

This review is part of the OECD’s wider ‘Quality Beyond Regulations’ project, which has aimed to support OECD member countries to consider policies that can effectively enhance process quality in early learning and care. This review was conducted over three country missions which involved online meetings with a full range of stakeholders in the ELC sector including parents, providers, practitioners, employee and employer representatives and researchers.

·       The report can be accessed here: Strengthening Early Childhood Education and Care in Ireland : Review on Sector Quality | OECD iLibrary (oecd-ilibrary.org)
